Bénédicte Py, PhD is an Inserm Research Director at the Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (CIRI) in Lyon, France.

Dr Bénédicte Py graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure and obtained her PhD in Cell biology at the Cochin Institute in Paris. She then completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in Pr Junying Yuan’s laboratory.

In 2014, Dr Bénédicte Py established her research group at the CIRI. Her research focuses on cell signaling of inflammation, with a special emphasis on the inflammasome pathway, which is relevant to various conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases and age-associated functional decline. Her lab aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms that regulate the assembly of the inflammasome signaling complex, and their implication in hereditary autoinflammations, diabetes and post-sepsis immune alterations. Her work adopts a multidisciplinary approach using biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, mouse models, and patient cohorts.
