Dr. Richard Ransohoff focuses on neuroinflammation research and development opportunities at the firm. He is continually amazed by the raw creativity, commitment, compassion, and intelligence he witnesses at Third Rock. Early in his career, he realized how vital his efforts as a neurologist were to patients when, despite ten inches of snow covering the city, his entire clinic was packed. Now, he continues to be motivated by this powerful moment decades later, and believes that working in the biotech industry is a chance to continually improve patient lives on a global scale. Dr. Ransohoff joined Third Rock 2018 from Biogen, and previously spent 30 years at the Cleveland Clinic, where he founded and directed the Neuroinflammation Research Center in the Lerner Research Institute. He received his M.D from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
